It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure assistance in: (1) conduct an inventory of the post-1800 History of Medicine Division (HMD) printed works collection approximately 85,500 online records for items which were printed after 1800 and which are housed in the HMD stacks; (2) check a printout of records (excluding History of Medicine Reference Collection, Journals, Dissertations, and Pamphlets) against the volumes on the shelves in the HMD stacks and annotating the printout with item-specific information; (3) identify missing titles, titles which have been misshelved, and titles for which there are no existing online records. Substantial experience with similar projects in a library setting is required, as well as thorough knowledge with the NLM classification schedule is required. Previous experience with NLM online systems is highly desirable. Request for Quotations (RFQ) Number NLM 98-075/UHP will be issued on or about September 3, 1998.
