The National Aeronautics and Space Administrations (NASA) Office of Space Science is releasing a NASA Announcement of Opportunity (AO 98-OSS-06) entitled MUSES-C Science Team to conduct scientific investigations as part of the U.S./Japanese Mu Space Engineering Spacecraft-C (MUSES-C) collaboration, which will be available on or about September 4, 1998. The instruments are all facility instruments provided by ISAS and NASA. This validation mission offers opportunities to collect valuable science data at a near-Earth asteroid, currently planned to be 4660 Nereus. This Announcement of Opportunity solicits proposals for individual investigators to conduct scientific research as members of the Joint Science Team for the MUSES-C collaboration using data from the Orbiter and Rover and from the returned samples. Participation is open to all categories of U.S. organizations, including educational institutions, profit and nonprofit organizations, NASA centers, and other U.S. Government agencies.
