DACW17-98-R-0018 DUE 091498 IS HEREBY CHANGED AND CORRECTED TO READ:
SOL DACW17-98-R-0022. CONTRACTORS WHO REQUESTED SOLICITATION PREVIOUSLY
UNDER DACW17-98-R-0018 WILL RECEIVE DACW17-98-R-0022. The contractor is
to provide supervision, labor, equipment and materials necessary to
perform temporary roofing repairs on structures damaged by a natural
disaster during hurricane season in seven states (Alabama, Florida,
Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia) and
the Caribbean (Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Territory of the
U.S. Virgin Islands). This procurement will be in support of emergency
operations in the aforementioned areas. The contracts will be
established as Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts. There
will be a maximum of nine contracts awarded from this solicitation.
Notice is given that contracts will only be awarded in the event the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) tasks the USACE with
responding to a natural disaster during the 1998 hurricane season. If
no such tasks are issued, the solicitation will be cancelled at no
costs to the Government. The maximum value of each contract will be
$5,000,000.00 per year for the base year and four (4) option years.
Bidders are encouraged to bid on all areas, but this is not mandatory.
Since the purpose of these contracts is to provide services during
emergencies and because the magnitude of each emergency situation
cannot be pre-determined and because emergencies can occur in two or
more serviced areas at the same time, the Government believes its best
interests require a different contractor for each serviced area.
Therefore, each offeror is eligible to receive only one of the 9 awards
to be made against this solicitation. The Government will furnish
reinforced polyethylene plastic sheeting. Work to be performed shall
commence with 12 hours of receipt of delivery order and temporary roof
repairs shall proceed at the minimum average rate of 20,000 square
feet of installed temporary plastic roofing per day until the delivery
order is complete. Solicitation is being issued in an electronic
format only. Interested sources will receive the solicitation on a
CD-ROM. There will be no charge for these documents. Requests for the
solicitation may be faxed to (904) 232-2748. This is an unrestricted
acquisition and all responsible sources are encouraged to participate.
Solicitation DACW17-98-R-0022 will be issued on or about 14 August
1998 and due on or about 15 September 1998. SIC CODE 1761. Size
