ELECTRO-OPTICAL/INFRARED SYSTEMS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY CONFERENCE The Association of Old Crows will conduct its second government/industry Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Systems for the 21st Century Conference on September 23-24, 1998 at the US Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, Maryland. The keynote speaker is Major General James Snider, Army PEO Aviation. The conference will be at the Secret, U.S. only classification level and will be chaired by Mr. Tony Grieco, Deputy Director, Electronic Warfare, Office of the Director of Strategic and Tactical Systems, OSD. The conference will provide an important forum on the systems and technologies being developed to counter the modern EO/IR threat. The overall theme will be on the increased cooperation and commonality underlying these countermeasures developments; commonality and cooperation among the armed services, industry and the subsystem technologies required to provide effective protection for air, land, and sea platforms. Sessions will address: Service Plans, Threat Warnings; Directable CM; and Expendables. Briefings will include: the OSD IRCM plan, as well as service and SOCOM activities; threat warning papers, addressing AN/AAR-57, AN/AAR-54, Multi-color IR, ship-board warning, JSF sensors and AN/AVR-2; Directable of CM presentations which will cover ATIRCM, DIRCM, TADIRCM, AIEWS, LIFE, DARPA laser, and semiconductor lasers; and finally a series of talks on expendables which will cover ASTE, AIRCMM, towed flare, "Buck" flare and BOLS flare.
