THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. SOLICITATION NUMBER 53SBNB860104 IS BEING ISSUED AS A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS (RFQ) USING SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. The National Institute of Standards and Technology has a requirement for Seagate Internal 18GB 10,000 RPM Ultra Disk Drive, Seagate Part #ST118202LC with mounting brackets for the disk drive to allow for installation into Sun RSM 2000 RAID array. Only the Seagate brand is acceptable due to their known performance with Sun workstations and servers. The Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN), quantities, and unit issues are as follows: CLIN 0001, Seagate Internal 18GB 10,000 RPM Ultra Disk Drive, Seagate Part #ST118202LC with mounting brackets for the disk drive to allow for installation into Sun RSM 2000 RAID array Quantity 35 each with mounting brackets (The Government does not require installation) CLIN 0002, Warranty; and CLIN 0003, Manuals, The contractor shall provide all manuals and the Government has the right to reproduce the manuals for its use as necessary; and CLIN 0004, FOB Destination: The contractor shall pack and mark the shipment in conformance with carrier requirements, deliver the shipment in good order and condition to the point of delivery specified in the contract, be responsible for any loss of and/or damage to the goods occurring before receipt of the shipment by the consignee at the delivery point specified in the contract; and pay and bear all charges to the specified point of delivery. The contractor shall deliver all line items FOB Destination, to NIST, Building 301, Shipping and Receiving, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-0001. Required delivery time is 30 days after award. The provisions at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offer. Offers shall include appropriate product information that clearly documents that the offered products are those listed above including supporting documentation that the mounting brackets will allow for the disk drive to be installed into Sun RSM 2000 Raid array. The clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition.
