purpose of this project is to expand the existing battery room at the
Wilmington Processing & Distribution Center. ARCHITECTURAL Remove a 12"
concrete block wall, full height, separating the existing battery room
from the shop area. Remove the battery charging racks, 3-Impact doors
to the work room, roll-up steel door and personnel door to the loading
platform, and bridge crane. Install new battery charging racks, three
(3) pair or impact doors, one (1) personnel door, overhead bridge
crane, portable vehicle service lift, guardrail, bollards, and epoxy
paint masonry walls and concrete floor. Modify concrete floor to
accommodate new trench drain. Modify existing door and louver masonry
wall openings. MECHANICAL Remove existing exhaust systems in the
existing battery room and the adjacent maintenance shop room. Remove
wall louvers, plumbing fixtures, and a portion: of 3" underground waste
line. Provide new exhaust ventilation system in battery and vehicle
repair rooms, new in wall transfer grilles, new plumbing fixtures,
sanitary and vent lines, hot and cold water piping system: back flow
preventor, deionizing water system, trench drain, and
waste/neutralizing tank. Relocate unit heater and ductwork with reheat
coils. ELECTRICAL Disconnect and remove 120 VAC receptacles,
miscellaneous electrical power distribution equipment, and 277 VAC
lighting in the existing battery room and shop areas. Remove for
relocation purposes disconnect switches and starter. Relocate 112.5 kVA
transformer and 120/208 VAC panel board. Install new electrical
distribution panel board, transformer, feeder, receptacles, disconnect
switches, starters, and associated wiring and raceway to provide
electrical power for the battery chargers and their associated
equipment. Install new fluorescent lighting and associated electrical
power distribution branch circuits. Offeror must have a minimum of five
(5) years experience as a General contractor and must have
satisfactorily completed at least three (3) projects of similar size
and scope. A preproposal conference will not be held.The estimated
price range is between $225,000 and $350,000 with completion required
within 180 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
