The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Office of Managed Care (OMC), through the ADP Acquisitions Branch, Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a twelve month sole source simplified acquisition to the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD). The NASMHPD is the only national organization that represents State Mental Health Agencies for the purpose of: providing identification, coordination, analysis, synthesis and dissemination of ongoing work at the State and Federal levels related to managed care and mental health services by State Mental Health Agencies, the NASMHPD, and the CMHS/OMC; providing liaison services concerning these activities with the National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program Directors (NASADAD), the National Association of State Medicaid Directors, and other organizations; sharing information about managed care activities in NASADAD and NASMHPD with the managed care offices in the CMHS and the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment; and identifying managed care issues of common concern to these organizations. The anticipated award date is August 27, 1998. No solicitation is available. The proposed simplified acquisition action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit written documentation that demonstrates their ability to respond to the requirement within 15 days after the date of publication of this notice. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
