E-MAIL: N/A,. Potential sources are sought for the acquisition to upgrade the existing Commercial Interior Intrusion Detection System (CIIDS) located throughout Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. The existing system is a SCO UNIX by LINX operating system with #4400 panels. The system has passive infrared (PIR) motion sensors, balance magnetic switches (BMS) and standard duress buttons. The are currently 31 buildings with the existing system. The upgrade of the existing system shall include but is not limited to the purchase and installation of a complete Windows NT 4.0 System that shall be totally integrated and compatible with the existing CIIDS System and shall be Year 2000 compatible. The responses to this sources sought synopsis shall address the applicability of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. Contractors shall furnish any appropriate information, which shows that their proposed item(s)/service(s) can meet the definition of a commercial item found in FAR 2.101. This sourcessought synopsis does not constitute a request for quote and is not considered to be a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intent to award a contract on the basis of this notice or otherwise pay for any information or inquiry.
