synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; a proposal is being requested and a written
solicitation shall not be issued. Solicitation DAAB07-98-R-A525 is
issued as a request for proposal(RFP). This will be a sole source RFP
to Cummins Engine Company Inc., Memphis, TN who possesses the
manufacturing data and is the actual manufacturer of this item. The
United States Army CECOM intends to buy 20 each, with no option for an
additional quantity, commercially available off the shelf, crankshaft
assemblyk, NSN 2815-01-225-6552, commercial part number 3031192, used
with generator 750KW/50-60HZ/DED/TU/MEP 208A. The Government intends
to award a Firm Fixed Price(FFP) type contract to Cummins Engine
Company, Inc. as a result of this solicitation which will be evaluated
on price and design. Delivery for all items will be 90 days after
contract award, inspection and acceptance shall be in accordance with
FAR 52.212-4(a), F.O.B. point will be at destination, APO AE
09894-5350. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular number
45, Jan 2, 1997. The following FAR clauses apply to this acquisition:

apply to this acquisiiton: Offer must include (1) Unit and extended
price for all requested items, (2) Prompt payment terms, product
literature: and (3) A completed copy of the provisions at FAR 52.212-3,
