Survey requires the digitizing of USGS-supplied strong-motion records
of significant earthquakes on SMA (70mm) and CRA (6") film. The USGS
intends to acquire these services on a sole source basis from
Structural and Earthquake Engineering Associates, Arcadia, CA pursuant
to FAR 6.302-1. Proposed contractor has developed unique software
tools for correcting common artifacts on the film records, such as
stalls and data gaps, not available from any other known source. There
is no solicitation. Interested parties should send detailed
information on its capabilities for meeting the USGS requirements
described herein, and commercial pricing information if available, in
writing to attention of the contracting officer at the address above,
or by fax to (650) 329-5480, within 15 days of publication date of this
