E-MAIL: Sue Strickland, stricksl@pkwsmtp.wpafb.af.mil. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is contemplating the purchase of approximately 200 aluminum containers. The containers are for the B-52 ALS-172 Countermeasures Set. The ALS-172 container set consists of the CNU-605/E, CNU-606/E, CNU-607/E, and the CNU-608/E. Cnu-605/E, CNU-606/E, and CNU-607/E have the same external container design (CNU-604/E): 42.9"L x 33"W x 22.4"H with different internal cradle systems. CNU-608/E is a different but similar design: 33"L x 33.3"W x 24.6"H. The containers shall be manufactured in accordance with government furnished production level drawing packages and specification on a firm fixed price contract. Requirement includes 2 of each design for the first article test and evaluation and the fabrication of production containers after successful completion of the first article test and evaluation. The drawing packages and specifications are available for review at http://packweb.wpafb.af.mil/solicitations. Offerors for this contract should be experienced in economical fabrication techniques (welding, machining, sheet metal cutting, etc.) and are required to build aluminum containers to specs. These are complex items due to flatness, straightness and tolerance requirements. The containers must also be water vapor proof with controlled breathing over dessicant. Delivery shall be to Robins AFB, GA. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside under SIC code 3728 for businesses up to 1,000 employees. No paper copies of the RFP will be provided. See Notes 1 & 23.
