The District of Columbia Office of the Chief Financial Officer, one behalf of its Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) is soliciting expressions of interest in a solicitation to be issued in August 1998 for the acquisition of a line queuing system. The installation will be needed in a customer service center that is being established at 941 North Capitol Street NW, Washington D.C. in the fall of 1998. -- - The system contemplated includes a "take-a-number" based method of assigning customers a place in line, but must be able to capture customer service related statistics, such as length of time taken to serve customers, the numbers of customers served by times of day and days of the week, etc. It shall also include an audio-visual announcement on a display visible to customers that informs people waiting of the position in line next to be served. A similar system operates in the Department of State's Passport Office in downtown Washington DC. Expressions of interest, which must include prospective offerors' names, addresses, phone and FAX numbers and email addresses, must be received in the CFO's procurement office, by FAX, letter or Email (preferrably by email) no later than August 20, 1998. Distribution of the solicitation will be made to those prospective offerors responding to this announcement.
