This will be a definite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. There will be one base year and 4 option years. There will be a total of 3 delivery orders per year. The total number of cards per delivery order will vary. The minimum is estimated at 425,000 cards per year. The maximum is estimated at 525,000 per year. Card size is 3 3/8" X 2 1/8". Acceptable tolerances for card thickness, embossed character heights, and overall thickness will be established in the IFB. All embossed characters will be tipped using different colors depending on the year embossed. The colors for tipping are black, blue and red. Data to be embossed on these cards will be available for download by the contractor from the USDA-FSA Bulletin Board System (BBS). Cards are to be embossed in OCR and Simplex fonts where indicated. Requests for the solicitation must be in writing to the above address. Telephonic request will NOT be honored. September 18, 1998 is the anticipated due date for submission of bids. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about August 18, 1998. This procurement is unrestricted. All responsible and responsive bids will be considered.
