R -- INTERTIDAL MONITORING PROGRAM IN THE CALIFORNIA MONTEREY BAY NMS SOL WASC9-1 POC Randall Brown (voice) 206) 526-6226/FAX (206) 526-6025 Sources sought to provide intertidal monitoring in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS). Contractor shall furnish all facilities, supplies, materials, data, and services to assess and report on the algae and sessile invertebrates from selected rocky intertidal areas of the GNMS and northern portion of the MBNMS. Sampling will extend from Sonoma County south through San Mateo County at Bodega Head, Pinnacle Rock, south side of Estero Americano, Duxbury Reef, Bean Hollow, and Pigeon Point. Purpose of this contract is to continue sampling within mainland rocky intertidal areas of the GNMS and northern portion of the MBNMS to: 1) estimate abundance and distribution of intertidal invertebrates; 2) estimate percent cover and determine species composition for algae; 3) photodocument, collect and archive voucher specimens from the intertidal areas for future reference; and 4) expand the species inventory for the rocky intertidal habitat. Term of proposed contract will be for one year with one additional option year which may be exercised at Govt's discretion. Total term not to exceed two (2) years. Anticipated that Phycologist, Biologist, and Biologist Technician (or similar) will be required to perform work under this contract.
