The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has a requirement for meeting services for an off-site conference meeting package for the MEP Center Directors' Meeting, Aug.31 through Sept.3, 1998. The package shall consist of use of a facility which offers a complete meeting package that includes 1110 sleeping rooms, a plenary meeting room, 5 breakout rooms, standard audio-visual equipment, and meals each day. The location site must be within an hour drive of Dulles Airport and located in an informal setting that fosters team building. The Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN), quantities, and unit issue are as follows: CLIN 0001, Room for plenary session set up Round style for 120 people and five breakout rooms set up U-shape for 25 people, on September 1st and 2nd from 8am to 5pm. CLIN 0002, Reception for 110 people on the evening of August 31, 1998 with a cash bar and substantial finger foods. Breakfast, lunch and dinner for 110 people on September 1, 1998 and breakfast, lunch and dinner for 110 people on September 2, 1998 and breakfast, lunch and dinner for 70 people on Sept. 3, 1998. CLIN 0003, Registration area outside the meeting room with 2 -- 6 foot tables, 2 chairs at each table, a trash can, a message board and 2 easels. CLIN 0004, Two coffee breaks per day to consist of coffee, tea, sanka, assorted sodas, and mineral waters on September 1st, and 2nd for 110 people and on Sept. 3rd for 70 people. CLIN 0005, Audio-visual requirements: Podium, overhead projector, 35 mm projector, and screen in general session and flip charts and overheads in the breakout rooms on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd. CLIN 0006 is an option item for AV equipment during the reception on August 31, 1998. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation 53SBNB860111 is issued as a request for quotations (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. This action is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) code is 7011. The small business size standard is $5 Million. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered, including quality of facilities and location.
