Proposals will be opened on 9/4/98 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $1.8 million and $2.2 million. Description of the work is: The project consists of a 13,710 sq. ft. garage addition a 13,760 sq. ft. workroom addition and a 600 sq. ft. loading dock addition/remodel, totaling approximately 28,070 sq. ft. The workroom addition includes additional workroom space, men's and women's toilets and locker rooms, lunch room and extension of the existing lookout galleries. The site work includes changes to the existing parking lot and drive areas, including asphalt and concrete paving, curbs, ramps, stairs, walks, and retaining walls. Approximately 1,400 sq. ft. of the existing facility will be remodeled toinclude a conference room, toilet, mail vestibule, and other support facilities. The building will remain occupied and in use during construction, requiring that the work be completed in phases to minimize the inconvenience and disruption to the public and the Postal Service. The site is bounded on the northeast, east, and southeast by Currell Blvd. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 300 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
