SOURCES SOUGHT -- The Clinical Research Laboratory (CRL) at Keesler Medical Center is requesting written information, for PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY, from sources that have developed, or are developing, solid waste treatment technologies that may have an application in areas that have no sewage disposal infrastructures. Systems must meet the following general requirements: innovative technology, inexpensive, effectiveness at a wide range of temperatures, easily portable, lightweight, highly effective treatment process (i.e. BOD, TSS), effectively deals with odor, acceptable to soldiers in field conditions. High interest in source separation, low water use, and useful output product(s) designs. Goal is to lay foundation for improving military's sanitary excreta management system for deployed soldiers and/or the displaced populations that the soldiers may be supporting.
