Upgrading of the underground fuel storage tanks (UST), with tank replacement work at both the Des Moines and Knoxville divisions of the VA Central IA Health Care System. Work will correct all UST deficiencies for compliance with the Dept. fo Natural Resources regulations. Work includes total replacement of tanks, piping, monitoring equipment, temporary fuel source, etc. for two tanks at the Des Moines site and eight tanks at the Knoxville site, all of various sizes. In addition, modifications of two tanks and the removal of one 40,000 gallon tank is to be completed at the Des Moines site. Contractor shall completely prepare all sites for the replacement tanks, including coordinating all efforts with the Dept of Natural Resources for compliance with applicable UST regulations.
