R -- COMMERCIAL RECRUITING FIRM SOL 98-1000 POC Contact Janet Scott, Contracting Officer 202/708-9979 R- The U.S. Department of Education is seeking a Commercial Recruiting Firm to provide Executive Search services to identify and screen candidates nationally for the career Senior Executive Service position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). The services sought are intended to serve as an additional source of applicants to supplement the Government's own recruitment efforts. The Recruiting Firm will screen candidates against basic requirements to be specified by the Department, and refer to the Department all candidates who appear to meet the qualifications. Once recruited, an applicant must be evaluated and appointed through civil service employment procedures. The Recruiting Firm may not imply that it is the sole or primary avenue for employment with the Federal Government or with the Department. Applicants may apply directly to the Government for this position and, thus, need not apply through the Commercial Recruiting Firm. The Recruiting Firm must comply with all applicable merit principles and equal opportunity laws. The award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures with demonstrated past performance in placing Senior Information Technology Executive as a significant evaluation factor.
