Drangstveit 715-362-1177 phone, 715-362-1188 fax This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation R9Z-98-35-H is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This synopsis/solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are in efffect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-06. The intent of this solicitation and any resultant contract is to purchase a Bracke 2-row Scarifier-Seeder equippped with a heavy duty winch able hitch, or approved equal. The prime mover of this equipment will be a skidder 90-130 hp. The scarifier consists of a heavy duty steel frame with two Mattock Wheel assemblies chain driven by rubber tires. This equipment shall have a heavy duty steel frame suitable reinforced to withstand the shock loading encountered in scarifying operations. Deflectors shall be mounted on the frame in front of the tires to help protect them from slash, stumps, and rocks. To raise andlower the mattock wheels, the mattock frame arms must be able to rotate in a vertical plane. There shall be two mechanical cylinders attached to each frame arm to limit the amount the frame arm can be raised and to provide lateral stability in the raised position. The mattock frame arms shall be raised and lowered by A-frame and chain assembly powered by the winch on the log skidder. Additional Requirements: Hard surfacing of front apron deflectors at the wheel forks. Hard surfacing of spindle bottom protection plates. Hard surfacing of machine frames between mattocks. Supply one comple spare tire and wheel assembly. Hitch must mount at the rear of a log skidder. Sufficient numbers of grease finntings for perodic luberication of scarifier. The weight of the scarifier shall be 6600 pounds minimuim. Equipment shall bear the manufacturer's name or trademark, model, and serial number either cast stamped, or marked on the equipment or on a corrosion-resistant metal plate securely affixed to the equipment. Contractor shall guarantee the scarifier and parts thereof against defective material and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of acceptance by the Government.
