V -- COMMERCIAL TRAVEL OFFICE SERVICE FOR PATRICK AFB AND CAPE CANAVERAL AS FL SOL F08650-98-R-0034 POC Thomas A Blazewicz, Contract Specialist (407) 494-9971/Robert O Stuart, Contracting Officer (407) 494-3934 The Goverment intends to extend the current contract #F08650-92-C-0048 with Cruise Ventures Inc dba CI Travel, 800 World Trade Center, Norfolk VA 23510, to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items or services necessary to perform management and operations of commercial travel offices located at Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral Air Station Florida. The extension will be from 1 Oct 98 through 30 Jun 99 (basic) at which time the services are scheduled to be subsumed into the DoD-wide Commercial Travel Office (CTO) contract. The extension will also contain options to accomodate any delay in award of the DoD contract which will be solicited under full and open competition. CI Travel is the one and only contractor who is in place and ARC-licensed to provide temporary services in a timely fashion without disruption until the requirement is rolled into the DoD-wide CTO contract. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition due to the very short period of performance.
