The period of performance will be one year with four 1-year options. The MDIS is linked to Madigan Hospital's MDIS. In order for the Navy sites to continue using the teleradiology capabilities of the system and to maintain the critical link to Madigan's MDIS, the MDIS must be maintained by a GE Medical Systems Administrator. Additionally, the software that supports the database and many of the hardware components embedded in the database are proprietary to GE. The Government is unable to provide information necessary to support a competitive procurement. The Government intends to solicit, negotiate and award on a sole source basis with General Electric Company, 800 Business Center Drive, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
