CHARLES MINE SHAFT RECLAMATION SOL 143868IFB9812226 POC Kathleen Oberle, Contracting Officer 412/937-2838 The Office of Surface Mining (OSMRE) intends to contract for the stabilization of seven mine shafts (2 in Bay City, Bay County, MI and 5 in the St. Charles area, Saginaw County, MI). The shafts range in depth from 120 to 167 feet. The shafts shall be stabilizaed by compaction grouting. Experience is required in compaction grouting procedures. The contractor shall excavate and dispose of concrete foundations at three of the mine sites. The estimated quantities include 1620 liner feet of vertical drilling, 8100 cubic feet of grout, and 1000 cubic yards of concrete disposal. The estimated cost range for this project is $200,000 to $275,000. The solicitation will be available on or about August 17, 1998. An organized pre-bid meeting will be held sometime in September.
