925/803-2780 The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Western Regional
Contracting Office, 6600 Goodfellow Street., Dublin, CA 94568 is
seeking the services of a quallified Pharmacy Technician. The services
shall be performed at the Metropolitan Detention Center, 535 N.
Alameda, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The Contractor shall provide the
services in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted
within the contractor's field of expertise, including but not limited
to the following: provide clerical and adminstrative support in the
pharmacy operation to the inmate population at the MDC LA, interpret
Physician's and Physician Assistant's prescription orders, entering the
prescription order into the pharmacy computer and printing prescription
labels, service as a resource person to the Health Services staff in
regards to rountine inquires concerning Pharmacy policies and
procedures, submits statistical reports. The Contractor will be
required to provide the services as specified in the Statement of Work
under RFQ 224-0005-9. The Contractor shall provide five sessions per
week, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m, with unpaid 1/2 hour
lunch. One session shall consist of six (6) hours. AT NO TIME WILL THE
CONTRACT EXCEED THIRTY (30) HOURS PER WEEK. The Contractor must meet
the following qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent and
a graduate of a recognized Pharmacy Technician school. minimum age of
18, with six months of documented experence in the pharmaceutical field
or enrollment and participation of a least thirty (30) days in a
Pharmacy Technician training program which may be substituted for field
experience. Consideration will be given to those individuals certified
as LPN, CNA, or CMA. Prior to contract performance the provider must
be able to provide proof of malpractice insurance. All offerors are
advised that their proporal shall be evaluated inaccordance with the
evaluation factors as cited the RFQ. The anticipated period of this
contract will be; Base Yeard: Date of award through 12 months ; Option
Year #1: 13 months from date of award through 24 months; Option Year
#2 24 months from date of award through 36 months; Option #3: 37 months
from date of award through 48 months, Option Year #4: 49 months from
date of award through 60 months. RFQ packages shall approximately be
available 7/31/98. This procurement is 100% small business set aside.
