(Site Code W36HUG) The North Carolina Air National Guard has a
requirement to secure a construction contract to Alter Fuel System
Maintenance and Corrosion Control Facility at Charlotte/Douglas
International Airport, 5225 Morris Field Drive, Charlotte, NC. The
project consist of renovation to an existing facility including, but
not limited to, interior demolition of areas to be renovated, new
concrete masonry partition walls complete with suspended acoustical
tile ceiling and floor coverings, installation of government furnished
paint spray booth, hangar door renovations, fall protection system,
specialized breathing air, air conditioning and ventilation systems,
AFFF and wet pipe fire suppression systems, building HVAC and
electrical systems and other work as defined by the technical drawings
and specifications. ABI #1: Recondition existing hangar door and
overhead doors. ABI #2: Bridge crane modification and Upgrade lighting
protection system. ABI #3: Floor coating at hangar maintenance bay,
and tug tunnel and metal shelving at tool room. ABI #4: Building
demolition/access road realignment. Submission of a bid by a contractor
shall be accepted as prima facia evidence that he has examined the job
specifications and he has satisfied himself as to the nature and
location of the work and all other matters which can in any way affect
the work or cost thereof under this contract. Any failure of the
contractor to acquaint himself with all available information including
a physical survey of the proposed work will not relieve him from
successfully performing the work required to be done for a complete,
finished job. The above outline of principle features of the work in no
way limits the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and
furnish all tools and labor required by the specifications referred
herein. The completion time for this project is 300 calendar days.
Official request for information must be in writing and refer to, (IFB)
DAHA31-98-B-0003, Alter Fuel System Maintenance and Corrosion Control
Facility, Project Number FJRP899621. This procurement is offered as a
small business set-aside. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1542.
Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled for September 10, 1998. Invitation
for Bids (IFB) will be issued to potential prime contractors (excluding
subcontractors, consultants and material suppliers) on a first received
first served basis until supply is exhausted. IAW DOD procurement
policy, all offerors must obtain contractor registration with the
Electronic Commerce Information Center at 1-800-334-3414 in order to be
considered for award. Telephone request will not be honored. Plans may
be reviewed at AGC or F.W. Dodge offices in Raleigh, Charlotte, and
Greensboro, NC. A non-refundable bid deposit of $200.00 is required, in
the form of a certified bank check, cashier's check or money order made
payable to "DAO, DFAS-LI". The successful contractor will perform a
minimum of 12% of the contract with its own employees not including the
cost of materials, reference FAR Clause 52.236-1, "Performance of work
by the Contractor". In accordance with FAR 36.204, magnitude of cost:
