for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR
Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in
this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation;
proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be
issued. The invitation for bid document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular
(FAC) 97-06. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside procurement. The
Standard Industrial Code is "5045". The small business size is 100
employees. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center
(AAC), Austin, Texas (AAC) intends to procure the following item: 1.)
8,500 each of a 3M BlackWatch brand, 3490E tape cartridges (1,100 foot,
810 mb capacity). Each cartridge shall be labeled with the Engineered
Data Products (EDP) #1687-FC, Tri-Optic 3480 bar-code labels. Label
numbering series are 300000 through 308499. Each tape cartridge shall
be delivered with the bar-code label attached and shall be initialized
using the following header format/data code/operating system
(IBM/EDCDIC/MVS). Delivery of the items shall be on or before September
1, 1998. Delivery Address is: Austin Automation Center, 1615 Woodward
Street, Austin, TX. 78741. All responsible sources may submit a quote,
which will be considered by this agency. Responses shall be in writing
and can be mailed to the attention of the contracting officer or faxed
to 512/326-6028. The following FAR clauses apply to this solicitation.
FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, Commercial Items with the
addendum FAR 52.216-1 Type of Contract (APR 1984) "The Government
contemplates award of a firm fixed price contract resulting from this
solicitation". FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items. "Award will
be made to the responsive offeror which provides the lowest offered
price and meets all the terms and conditions set forth in this
solicitation". All Offerors will be required to provide a completed
copy of the provision FAR 52-212-3 Offeror Representations and
Notifications-Commercial Items and with addendum, VAAR 852.219-70
Veteran Owned Small Business. FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items. FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Order-Commercial
Items. The Standard Commercial Warranty is required. Offers must be
submitted within 10-days from the publication of this notice and should
