EPA and CARB engines for 30/60kW MIL STD Generators: The US Army Communication and Electronics Command, R&D Center, Command and Control Directorate, Army Power Division, Power Generation Branch is soliciting information from manufacturers of diesel engines that meet EPA and CARB requirements. The engines are being considered for replacing engines currently used in the MEP-005 (30 kW) and MEP-006 (60 kW) Military Standard Generator Sets for purposes of reducing emissions and operating & support costs. Drawings of the engines will be available upon request by the offeror. Other information may be obtained via the Technical POC indicated below. The following are the engine characteristics for the existing 30/60 kW Military Standard Generator Sets: 30 kW MIL-STD Generator Set Horsepower Speed Frequency Fuel Cylinders Power Factor(pf) (RPM) (Hz) 57 1800 50/60 DL-1, DL-2, 6 0.8 from -25F(-65 degrees F JP-8, Jet A-1 w/winter kit)to 125 degrees /Sea Level,107 oF/5000Ft 60 kW MIL-STD Generator Set Horsepower Speed Frequency Fuel Cylinders Power Factor (pf) HP (RPM) (Hz) 167 1800 50/60 DL-1, DL-2, 6 0.8 from -25 degrees F JP-8, Jet A-1 (-65 degrees F w/winter kit) to 125 degrees F/MSL, 107 degrees fahrenheit/5000 ft Interested offerors are requested to submit available information, including, but not limited to, engine descriptions, engine specifications, performance capabilities, operational and test results, company engineering, development and manufacturing capability, photographs, availability, and price quotes. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for information solicited. No funds have been authorized or appropriated for this effort. The information provided in response to the RFI may be used by the Government in developing its acquisition plans. The information presented in the information package provided by contractors is for information purposes only and does not mandate or impose requirements. It is highly desirable that data be received with unlimited rights to the Government. However, we recognize that proprietary data may be included with the information provided. If so, clearly mark such proprietary information and clearly separate it from the unrestricted information as an addendum.
