Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to harvest Loblolly, Sash, and Longleaf Pine trees through selective thinning and standard clearcutting practices. Sash and Loblolly Pine volumes are estimated to be approximately 528 cords (1412 tons) of pulpwood and 150,240 BD. FT. (1,052 tons) of sawtimber. Longleaf Pine volumes are estimated to be approximately 304 cords (813 tons) of pulpwood and 13,636 BD. FT. (95 tons) of sawtimber. All volumes were estimated from a 100% tally. Timber is considered to be in average condition for the Sumter area. Contractor shall have completed harvesting operations and removed all designated timber from the sites by 18 December 1998. The 99 acre tract to be harvested must have harvesting operations being conducted during the 18 September to 26 September time period. Areas to be harvested are located at the Poinsett Electronic Range, Sumter County, Sumter, South Carolina. The range lies between Wedgefield, South Carolina to the north and Pinewood, SouthCarolina to the South; it is bounded on the east by Highway 261 and on the west by Highway 120. All trees to be harvested are marked with a spot of paint at both eye and ground level except the 8 acre clearcut area. Offer closing date will be on 20 Aug 98.
