Z -- REMOVE AND REPLACE UNDERGROUND FUEL OIL STORAGE TANKS SOL IFB 525-7-98 DUE 091698 POC Diane Winchoba Provide all labor materials, tools, equipment and qualified supervision to prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, furnish labor and materials and perform work to Replace Fuel Storage Tanks, Buildings 1,2,3,8,10,28, West Roxbury V.A.M.C. -- -- Work includes general Construction, demolition, excavation, removal and disposal of piping and storage tanks, (containing Gasoline, Diesel or #2 Fuel)backfilling, grading. Furnish and install concrete site pads, storage tanks, piping, overfill containment, high/low fuel alarms and leak detection systems. Furnish and install paving and patch work all as shown on contract drawings and specifications. Contractor shall pump and transfer all diesel fuel and gasoline during removal and installation of tanks, and maintain supply to each generator day tank during demolition and construction period. Fuel in each tank shall remain the property of the Government. The demolished tank shall be legally disposed of by the contractor in accordance with rules and regulations of the City of Boston Fire Department and V.A. and in accordance with contract documents. The Contractor shall phase the project so that no more than one tank at any time shall be removed and replaced. The exception is the area containing three tanks (Building 8); these tanks may be removed simultaneously. Bidders require a City of Boston, Board of Examiners, G-12 licence to do the work. Completion days is 120 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Issue date of solicitation is on or about 8/10/98. Award is subject to the availability of funds. SIC 1711 applies. There will be a non refundable charge of $50.00 for the solicitation package.
