This project provides a new approximately 2,450 Square Meter
Crash/Fire Rescue Station including high bay apparatus room for ten
vehicles; firefighter bedrooms; training areas; offices; recreation
room; day room; dining room with small kitchen; physical therapy,
locker, and physical fitness areas; protective clothing laundry,
protective clothing storage and disinfecting room, maintenance areas,
latrines and storage areas. The building will have drilled piers and a
slab on grade foundation, structural steel frame, brick veneer
exterior walls, and a standing seam metal roof. Also included are
parking areas, service drives, concrete paving, utilities, and site
grading. Bids from large business firms must comply with FAR clause
52.219-9 regarding the requirement for submission of a subcontracting
plan. Subcontracting Plan and Preaward Information will be submitted as
part of bid. Failure to submit a Subcontracting Plan and Preaward
Information at time of bid opening may result in rejection of bid. The
FortWorth District subcontracting goals are for specified percentages
of the contractor's total planned subcontract amount to be placed with
the following: 55% with small business; 8.5% with small disadvantaged
business, 3% with women-owned small business, and 5.5% with
Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions
(HBCU/MIs). Duration of Contract is approximately 450 calendar days.
SIC Code is 1542. Small Business Size Standard is $17 million.
Solicitation to be issued on or about 21 August 1998. Proposals due on
or about 21 September 1998. The Government intends to issue this
solicitation through the use of CD ROM and the Internet. However, the
Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification
of any changes to this solicitation. Contractors may view/download
this solicitation and all amendments on the Internet after solicitation
issuance at the following Internet address:

the Internet to receivea copy of this solicitation (CD ROM). NO EXPRESS
MAIL PROCEDURES WILL BE UTILIZED ON INITIAL MAILINGS OF PLANS AND
