COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 17,1998 PSA#213919 -- AUXILIARY DRY CARGO T-ADC(X) SUPPORT SHIPS NAVSEA is providing an
opportunity for industry fact finding trips aboard Combat Logistics
Force (CLF) ships to observe underway replenishment (UNREP). The
purpose of these trips is to provide first hand data on cargo transfer
to potential shipbuilders and designers of the new Auxiliary Dry Cargo
Ship (T-ADC(X)). For reservations, send e-mail to
adcx@hq.navsea.navy.mil, with "CLF UNREP Trip" as the subject line,
provide in the body of the e-mail the following information; company
name (lead company name if an industry team will attend together),
number of persons (10 members per team maximum), point of contact
information (lead company point of contact, e-mail address, phone
number) and embarkation preference: East Coast, West Coast, or either
coast. A chronological list, based on receipt date, of industry teams
will be held by the T-ADC(X) program office and teams notified
individually as UNREP opportunities arise. The dynamic nature of UNREP
operations makes long range planning difficult, but every effort will
be made to accommodate all interested parties when operational
commitments permit. Teams must be prepared to travel, and ready for
overnight accommodations aboard ship. Missions will be five (5) to
seven (7) days in length and participants may not be returned to the
port of embarkation. The Government will not fund any costs associated
with these trips. Industry participants will be responsible for all
costs associated with these visits including, but not limited to, meal
charges while aboard the vessels. E-MAIL: Contracting Officer,
