Solicitation 53SBNB860103 previously published in the CBD on July 8, 1998 has been amended. Amendment 0001 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation for the procurement of a Tool Room Lathe for the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, Maryland. This amendment is issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only amendment of the above solicitation. A written amendment will not be issued. This amendment hereby removes the 100% small business set aside and numbered Note 1. This requirement is now unrestricted. This amendment also assigns Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) to the accessories mentioned in the original solicitation, as follows: CLIN 0003, Axis digital readouts, installed and accurate to .0005, two (2) each; CLIN 0004, 5C collet set 1/64 to 1-1/16" by 1/64 increments, one (1) each; CLIN 0005, Tapped and slotted face plate, one (1) each; CLIN 0006, 3 jaw precision chuck w/.0005" Total Indicator Runout (TIR) repeatability and .0005" TIR concentricity adjustment, one (1) each; CLIN 0007, 6 jaw precision chuck w/.0005" Total Indicator Runout (TIR) concentricity adjustment, one (1) each; CLIN 0008, 4 jaw precision chuck w/independent reversible jaws, one (1) each; (NOTE: CLINs 0006,0007 and 0008 shall be supplied w/4 degree adapter plates for spindle); CLIN 0009, #2 precision live center w/morse taper, one (1) each; CLIN 0010, 2 POSITION CHANGE TOOL HOLDER POST including a cutoff holder, a turning and facing holder, a turning, facing, and boring holder, and a " capacity boring bar holder, one (1) each; and CLIN 0011, KEY STYLE DRILL CHUCKS including: 0-1/2" capacity, 0-3/8" capacity, and adapters for each to Morse taper #2., one (1) each. This amendment also serves as notification to offerors that the Government reserves the right to make multiple awards. The Government reserves the right to award multiple purchase orders on a item-by-item basis, however, vendors may submit quotations for all-or-none pricing. In addition to the other factors, quotes will be evaluated on the basis of advantages and disadvantages to the Government that might result from making one or more award(s). It is assumed, for the purpose of evaluating quotes, that $100 would be the administrative cost to the Government for issuing and administering each purchase order awarded under this solicitation.
