The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a laboratory room modification at its Gaithersburg, Maryland campus. The project consists of providing and installing round exhaust duct with fire-rated wrap from a preset fumehood and glove box, to an exhaust fan in the attic. The work also includes the purchase and installation of all materials required for this exhaust system including controls, air balancing, sheet metal, and electrical work. The contractor shall also be responsible for removing existing supply duct runout with reheat coil serving the room, and replacing it with a fan-coil unit. All controls, air balancing, plumbing, sheet metal and electrical work required for this supply system shall be purchased and installed by the contractor. This job consists of HVAC, plumbing and electrical work. All work shall be completed, and ready for occupancy within nine (9) weeks of commencement of construction. Exact specifications and drawings shall be available with thesolicitation package, on or about July 24, 1998. The Government anticipates the award of a firm, fixed price contract. This requirement is set aside 100% for small business. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1711. The small business size standard is $7.0 Million. The magnitude of construction for this requirement is between $25,000 and $100,000. All responsible small businesses may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency. See numbered Note 1.
