Eddy, Contracting Officer, 301-496-3878 Independently and not as an agent of the Government, the contractor shall furnish comprehensive environmental and occupational safety and health services and consultation to help ensure safe working conditions for the Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The RML is located on 903 South Fourth Street, in Hamilton, Montana. The Contractor shall provide at least the following: 1) Monitor and implement safe work-place policies in accordance with program and standard operating procedures (SOP); 2) Monitor employee compliance with RML health and safety SOP's and programs; 3) Provide guidance and training to personnel on safety and environmental issues; 4) Ensure monitory compliance with Federal, State, and Local statutes, rules and regulations; 5) Monitor complliance with RML policies and procedures for radiation safety; 6) Sample and test aire and water and record/file results to monitor compliance with environmental standards as required by Federal, State, County and City regulations; 7) Provide decommissioning services in relation to facilities renovation as described in the RFP's statement of work; 8) Monitor storage and arrange for disposal of hazardous toxic lab materials and waste. Offerors must attend a site visit, date and time to be announced in the RFP. It is anticipated that one award will be made for one base year plus four (4) additional one-year options. RFP 98-57 will be available on or about July 29, 1998, with an estimated closing date of August 31, 1998.
