P -- DEMOLITION OF BUILDING 1626, LOCATED AT THE UTAH AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH SOL DAHA42-98-B-0003 POC Contract Specialist, Diane N. Johnson (801) 595-2312 Solicitation Notice: The Utah National Guard intends to award a contract for the demolition of Building 1626, located at the Utah Air National Guard Base, Salt Lake City International Airport, Utah. The project consists of demolishing a WWII wooden building with an area of 9,906 square feet. Volume is approximately 250,000 cubic feet. It is a wooden frame building with large trusses spanning a 35 foot high bay with lean-to structures on three sides. It has three large overhead doors. Miscellaneous items to be demolished include interior fencing, masonry walls, concrete slab and framed offices. Walls are covered with non-friable asbestos siding, insulation and metal panels. Contractor will be required to remove asbestos by hand and dispose of the siding in accordance with the local and Federal EPA regulations. Contractor will have the option to salvage the building and reassemble it at another location. Salvaged items and materials shall become the property of the contractor with the exception of two steel vault doors, the radiant heating system and high pressure sodium lights. These items will remain the property of the GOvernment. Estimated magnitude is between $25,000 and $100,000. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competition Demonstration Program and is open to large and small business participation. The applicable SIC code is 1795. Small Business size standard is $7 million. Performance period is 120 calendar days. Bid packages will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualified prime contractors only until supply is exhausted. All requests shall be in writing. No telephone calls will be accepted Bid packages are tentatively scheduled for distribution on August 5, 1998, with bid opening date scheduled for September 9, 1998, or after 30 days whichever is later.
