dludeke@wr.usgs.gov. The US Geological Survey is seeking a computer
systems administrator who will work with USGS computer personnel. The
system administrator will participate in completing tasks appropriate
to installing and maintaining UNIX workstations and servers. There are
approximately 40, networked, SUN computers running SUN OS 4.1.1-5.6
and one DEC computer running Digital UNIX. Xterminals and network
printers will also be installed and maintained. Specific tasks, such as
backup and restore, related to DEC Open VMS systems will be assigned.
We are also seeking a Computer Systems Analyst who will be responsible
for completing tasks appropriate tomaintaining approximately 150
networked workstations running various Mac/OS and
Dos/Win3.2/Windows95/Windows NT operating systems. The Computer Systems
Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining networked printers
using TCP/IP and Appletalk network protocols. A good working knowledge
of TCP/IP and Appletalk is mandatory. Work includes system and network
administration tasks, hardware installations and maintenance, and
resolution of user problems with hardware, application and O/S
software, and network communications. The Computer Systems Analyst must
have the knowledge and skills necessary to complete described tasks
