B -- REVIEW OF HEALTH PLANS' SELECTION AND PAYMENT OF HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, 1998-1999 SOL RFP-04-98-MedPAC DUE 082098 POC Delores Curtis The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) is seeking a contractor to conduct a study that would address two primary questions: (1) how health plans choose and retain the providers who form their networks and (2) how plans pay these providers. The study will consider physicians, hospitals for inpatient and outpatient care, nursing homes, and home health agencies. A single contractor is being sought to provide these services under a fixed-fee contract for a period of one year. RFP 03-98-MedPAC will be issued on or about July 10, 1998.
