17.DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS: This notice modifies the description for
intercity bus charter service previously published on 23 April 1998
(Submission No. 193151). LOT I (Everett-Seattle WA and return): Bus
transportation of 300 to 400 passengers from Naval Station Everett to
the Washington State Ferry Terminal, Seattle WA, each weekday morning
with return trip to Everett each weekday afternoon. Bus service
expected to commence in April 1999 for a maximum period of nine months
with estimated usage of six months during that period. Lot II (Everett
-- Bremerton and return): Bus transportation of approximately 200 to
400 passengers (increasing to an estimated 500 to 700 passengers during
July-Sept 1999) from the Naval Station Everett area (including the
Smokey Point Navy Support Complex) to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard
(Bremerton WA) using a Washington State auto ferry, each weekday
morning with return trip to Everett each weekday afternoon. In
addition, service on the same route would be required for approximately
300 passengers on weekends and holidays. Bus service expected to
commence in April 1999 for a maximum period of nine months with
estimated usage of six months during that period. Both Lots: Contractor
is responsible for vehicles, bus drivers, fuel, maintenance, Lot II
state ferry charges, liability insurance, supervision, management, and
compliance with all safety, security, and environmental regulations.
Buses shall be furnished with high-back reclining seats, equipped with
a restroom, and air-conditioned. In accordance with DOD Regulation
4500.9-R, only bus carriers qualified by the Military Traffic
Management Command are eligible for contract award. Contract award will
be by lot; offerors may offer on one or both lots. Contract type will
be a firm, fixed-price requirements type awarded under procedures for
commercial (FAR Part 12) services. The Service Contract Act applies.
DoD Central Contractor Registration (http://www.ccr.dlsc.dla.mil/CCR)
is required. Only written requests for the solicitation will be
honored. Faxed requests will be accepted at 360-476-2931. Telephone
requests will not be honored. All responsible sources may submit offers
which shall be considered by Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Puget
Sound. All other terms and contiditions remain unchanged. Posted
