E-MAIL: Keith D. Hutto, keith.d.hutto1@jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for fabrication of a triply redundant zero stress bladder assembly. This bladder assembly functions as the gas barrier layer of a multi-layer shell. The bladder assembly is comprised of multiply reinforced polymer films (Combitherm {polymer film) heat sealed together. The bladder assembly will consist of three bladders separated by bleeder cloth layers. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 2394 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO -C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 9-BE13-26-8-36P is on or about July 2, 1998, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about July 17, 1998. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and related documents to this procurement will be available over the Internet. A complete set of the drawings will be made available upon request by contact of the person listed in the RFQ.
