A pre-solicitation brief to industry regarding the upcoming 100kW and 200kW Tactical Quiet Generator (TQG) procurement will be conducted at Department of Defense Program Manager -- Mobile Electric Power (DoD PM-MEP) on July 28, 1998 at 0900 -- 1400. The Government will present the Acquisition Strategy and the Schedule of Major Events. A dialog period will follow. The Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO), the PM-MEP Project Engineer, and other principal Government Representatives will brief industry and will be in attendance. At this time, it is anticipated that a 16 month Phase I Development Contract will be awarded competitively to one or more contractor(s) to build and test a limited number of prototypes of each size generator. Following a down-select process, one contractor will continue with a 22 month Phase II Development followed by a Phase III Production Option. The DoD requirements are for a total of 1,853 100 kW TQGs and 893 200kW TQGs over 10 years. A Purchase Description and Program Schedule are posted on the DoD PM-MEP home page at www.pmmep.org.
