Z -- ROAD REPAIRS SOL 201818B007 POC Joseph B. Grainey, Contracting Officer, (505)248-6793 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 2 seeks bids for repair of roads. The project is located within the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, in Comanche County Oklahoma, near Lawton, Oklahoma. the work includes but is not limited to: furnish all plant, labor, materials, services, and equipment necessary to perform the work in connection with road improvements, including approximately 10.5 miles of road improvements. Approximately 80% of the work consists of placing pavement fabric and hot mix asphalt pavement overlay over an existing deteriorated paved road. Approximately 20% of the work consists of scarfing, compacting, placing base course, and hot mix asphalt pavement on existing gravel roads. In addition, the project will include approximately 2.8 miles of crack sealing. Several bridges located within the various roads improvements will receive guard rail improvements. Work will be performed at 15 different locations. The limits of work extend from the Indiahomia entrance on the west boundry toElmar Thomas Lake on the east, approximately 12.5 miles in a straight line. The nearest batch plant is approxmately 25 miles from the middle of the project. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation is not setaside for small business. The SIC is 1611 with a size standard of $17.0. Award will be made to the most responsive, responsible contractor who provides the most advantages price in consideration of price and price related factors. It is estimated that the solicitation will be available by July 20, 1998. A definite response date has not yet been established. It is estimated that evaluation of bids and award will be made by August 26, 1998.
