cshade/fpl@fs.fed.us. The USDA Forest Products Laboratory, Madison,
Wisconsin is soliciting quotes for a construction project consisting of
staining and varnishing of interior window frames and adjacent wood
trim and reglazing of windows in Buildings 33, 34 and walkways. The
scope of work is to provide all labor, materials, supplies, equipment
and transportation as required to stain, seal, varnish, and reglaze all
(361) interior window frames and adjacent wood trim in accordance with
specifications, terms and conditions of the contract. Contract work is
located in Buildings 33, 34, including entrances, connecting walkways
and the walkways from Building 33 to Building 29 at USDA Forest
Products Laboratory, One Gifford Pinchot Drive, Madison, WI. Contract
work also includes sanding all interior surfaces, stripping and
bleaching water-stained areas, and final clean up. Evaluation of quotes
will be made using simplified acquisition procedures (FAR 13.106-2).
Selection will be made from the source, which in the opinion of the
government offers the best value to the Government. Price, quality of
past performance, experience doing similar work, plan for completion of
work (including planned workforce), warranty, knowledge of the site,
and capability and quality of items offered to meet the need for the
particular purpose are all criteria that will be considered in
evaluation. Contractor must address these factors when initially
submitting their quotation. In addressing these factors, contractors
are encouraged to provide product submittals and a time-scaled bar
graph listing major items of work, contemplated workforce, and starting
and completion dates. Contract time is required within 60 days. Award
of a firm-fixed-price contract is anticipated. Price range is estimated
between $25,000 and $100,000. This acquisition is not set aside for
small business and all responsible sources may submit a quotation.
Solicitation package will be available on or about July 27, 1998.
Interested parties are to submit written requests via Email, fax ormail
service. Phone calls will not be accepted. A site visit is planned for
Tuesday, August 11, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. Quotations will be due
September 2, 1998. There will not be a public bid opening. Posted
