The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement to renovate approximately 35,000 square feet of the JEH-FBI Building at 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20535. The work will be concentrated on the fifth (5th) floor of the FBI Headquarters facility. (1) The major items of work will consists generally of the following construction: demolition, construction of sound rated partitions and doorways, installation of cable tray and conduit, HVAC and sprinkler system modifications. The successful contractor shall be required to adhere to FBI security requirements as set forth in the contract documents. The estimated cost of this work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Copies of drawings and specifications will be available by mail only. Estimated release date is July 17, 1998. A Pre-Bid conference and site investigation are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. local time at FBI Headquarters Facility, Washington, D.C. 20535. A 72 hour advance notice is required to attend the conference and site investigation. Because of security requirements interested parties must furnish the Names, Date of Birth, Place of Birth and Social Security Numbers of the individuals who will be attending the site investigation and pre-bid conference. Bids may be hand-delivered to the Bid Opening, or mailed to the FBI Attn: Mr. Richard I. Sanders, Room 6875, JEH-FBI Building 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington,D.C. 20535. Mailed bids must be postmarked at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled date for bid opening. Please reference Invitation for Bid (IFB)-7214 in your written request. All solicitation requests must be in writing. Specifications and detailed requirements will be furnished with the solicitation, BY MAIL REQUEST ONLY, for a deposit of $200, SETS OF THE SOLICITATION. Bid sets will be issued on a first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bid sets will be sent by mail only. Deposit for solicitation is refundable when bid sets are returned complete and in order to the FBI. Requesters MAY NOT RETURN bid sets directly to the FBI Headquarters facility. Bid Sets may only be returned by mail or other overnight delivery service to the address set forth in the solicitation document. Bid, Performance and Payment Bonds ARE REQUIRED for this project.
