requirements type contract to collect and dispose of used tires. The
contractor shall institute a recycling program for recycling tires
and/or its recoverable materials. In addition, the contractor shall
provide a program for recycling those tires that are not recyclable.
Vehicles used for tire pickup shall be a flatbed truck capable of
transporting used tires for proper disposal. The truck shall also have
side panels, a covering or cargo netting for securing purposes, and
may be equipped with a hydraulic lift gate. Cargo vans and high cube
vans may be used upon Government approval. Period of performance is
October 1, 1998 through July 30, 1999 (10 months) with 3 prepriced
option periods. This procurement is set-aside 100% for small business.
A firm is considered to be a small business if its average annual
gross receipts for the past three years do not exceed $18.5 million.
SIC 4212, Local Trucking Without Storage. Issue date is on or about
July 13, 1998. Telephone requests will not be honored. Solicitation
charge is $5.00 each. Payment by check or money order shall be made
payable to DFAS, HONOLULU, OPLOC. Checks and money orders must be sent
to the Directorate of Contracting, ATTN: APVG-GKL, Fort Shafter,
