USPFO for Tennessee has a requirement for Equipment and Training Aids
to be used by the Drug Demand Reduction Program to teach and
strengthen resiliency factors among elementary through high school
students. The equipment must be designed along the lines of a "ropes"
or "confidence" course and must address teaching self confidence, self
esteem, team building and group dynamics. It should contain a minimum
of twenty training events that can be adopted for use at all age
levels and must be fully transportable. The equipment must be designed
with safety factors in mind and the use of which must not pose any
unreasonable threat of injury to the participants. Initial training for
personnel who will use the product must also be provided. This training
must be presented to a minimum of fifteen persons in the Nashville,
Tennessee vicinity with professional instructors traveling to this
location. Issues addressed in the training will include set up and use
of equipment, safety, care and maintenance. Instructors must be
knowledgeable in the employment of resiliency factors in drug abuse
prevention education and be able to teach facilitation techniques in
using the equipment to teach and reinforce these factors in young
people. Course materials, user guides, and manuals must be provided for
each trainee. The Government considers the Mobile Team Challenger kit
produced by Mobile Team Challenge Associates, LLC, Maryville, Tennessee
as meeting the Government's requirements. Comparable training and
equipment offered by other responsible offerors will be considered.
