DUE 080198 POC Mary Clark, Contracting Officer (406) 255-2746 Furnish labor, equipment, supplies, and materials to provide and construct 3 log shelter buildings on the Upper Missouri Wild and Scenic River. Work under this contract is located in Chouteau County, Montana. Schedule A is for 2 log shelter-double units and Schedule B is for one log shelter-double unit. Basis for award will be all or none for schedule A and all or for none Schedule B. Award will be made for Schedule A, Schedule B or Schedule A +B. Buildings are not all on the same location. Two log shelter- double units to be located at Hole In the Wall Site, approximately 25 miles from Geraldine, MT, and one log shelter -- double unit to be located at Slaughter River Site approximately 45 miles south of Big Sandy, MT. Access to the work shall be on existing roadways. Supplies will be Lodgepole Pine 7 or 8 inch diameter. Logs shall be cut from dry or dead standing timber or stored for a minimum of one year if cut green. Moisture content shall not exceed 19% for logs. All logs shall meet the Timber Products Inspection-Log Home Grading Rules latest edition. The contractor will have 37 days to complete the Hole In the Wall Site and 36 days to complete the Slaughter River Site after the notice to proceed is issued. Solicitation is a Request for Quotations to be awarded on a purchase order approximately August 1, 1998. Price range is estimated between $25,000 to $100,000.
