The solicitation packages will be available on July 15, 1998 with an anticipated bid opening on or about August 7, 1998. The successful bidder will be responsible for providing Dental Hygienist services, being professional in nature, as provided in the method considered normal in the local community. They will be responsible for taking impressions pouring casts, performing prophylaxes (cleaning), expose and develop radiographs, apply topical fluorides, give oral hygiene instruction to inmates, remove sutures, place periodontal dressings, remove periodontal and other surgical dressings, place and remove rubber dams, polish silver restorations, polish white composite restorations, tooth root planning, closed soft tissue curettage of gums, sterilization, telephone communications, chart in dental records, appointment book and other general duties recognized as routine in the community for dental hygienist. Services are requested for a six hour day two days a week. The successful bidder must have a minimum of 2 years college, or equivalent to an associate degree in applied science. The successful bidder must have necessary training required in a Vo. Tech. School, on the job training under a licensed dentist. The contract period is for one year with two one year options to extend the term of the contract. Additionally, the successful bidder will be required to pass a background investigation.
