NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the purchase of a complete rawinsonde sounding system to measure atmospheric parameters. The complete specifications/statement of work is contained at the URL listed below. This procurement is for the following items: Item 1. 1 EA Ground station hardware system, which includes ground station antenna(s) and ground station software. Item 2. 2 BX (18 per box) of rawinsondes. Item 3. 1 EA Delivery and Setup. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3829 and 500, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 1-151-CAC-7153-A is on or about June 10, 1998, with an anticipated quote due date of July 1, 1998. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
