On behalf of the Program Manager, Tank Main Armament Systems (PM-TMAS), the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armament Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC) is seeking sources for the delivery of 120mm, Anti-personnel tank cartridges for test and evaluation against U.S. requirements. Candidate cartridges must compatible with the with the M1A1/M1A2 tank with the M256 cannon without modification to the gun tube, breech or recoil mechanism. The round is intended to be used against ground troops. The round is required contain both a tracer and burst marker that are visible to the naked eye to 3000 meters. Delivery of an initial quantity of 600-700 is required by December 1999, BASED ON "365" DAYS AFTER AWARD with a potential delivery of 3000 -- 5000 production cartridges. The intent is to award a contract for the initial 600-700 cartridges with a priced option for the production quantity based upon successful completion of the required tests. The item must have completed development and be ready for operational use. Conceptual designs/ proposals for an Anti-personnel cartridge will not be considered.
