The Coast Guard inteds to solicit, negotiate and award a sole-source procurement to Quality Cleaners, PO Box 8204, Kodiak, AK 99615 for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1998 under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Integrated Support Command, Kodiak currently uses Quality Cleaners to pick up and deliver laundry at four locations. Time between pick up and delivery is between forty-eight (48) and seventy-two (72) hours. Dry cleaning of miscellaneous items will be called in as required. Kodiak Island is remote and is limited in resources, and at times limited in accessibility due to weather. The Coast Guard has determined that competition is not available. If no responses are received within fifteen (15) days with sufficient information to determine that another responsible source is available, negotiations will be conducted with Quality Cleaners.
